BARBADOS - TURTLE BEACH

The hotel Turtle Beach by Elegance had the best resort food hands down. Even their water was safe for drinking. I’ve been to other islands where it isn’t safe to drink the water. The last two trips I took someone ended up sick because of the food.

There are three restaurants on site. The Chelonia , The Sand Trap and Asiagos. During my stay I only did two we never visited Asiagos. For the Asiagos restaurants you had to make reservations and honestly we didn’t bother since the food was good at the other two restaurants which served as a la carte.

The only con about these two restaurants where that they’re outside. Yes it’s has covering overhead but that doesn’t keep the bugs and the birds out. Most of the food was covered at all times. The things I noticed uncovered were the fruit and salad. The birds birds would come and eat off people plates if they left them sitting unattended. Therefore I never left mine unattended. So if that’s a total turn off for you then yeah this isn’t the place for you.

The resort also had an ice cream parlour called Freeze where you could get cones , bowls , sundaes or milkshakes. We opted for bowls. I had cookies and cream and chocolate with cookie crumble. My friend had golden vanilla and cookies and cream with toasted almonds and crushed m&ms. We both enjoyed this and it comes inclusive in your package.

The resort also has Half Moon Coffee Bar and Grill. You could stop here and get a Cesar salad , panini’s or they had a variety of desserts and coffee.

There’s a waterfront bar where they serve pizza ( it’s like the Ellios kind lol ) chips & burgers, hot dogs and chicken wraps from 10-7. So in case you missed breakfast or lunch you could drop in and grab a quick snack.

They also have a pop up stand at 12:00pm each day where they serve different Bajan foods. One day we had ginger beer , Bajan lemonade and bake and fish cakes. Another day they had Rum with different chasers. Everyday is something different which is great gives you a little introduction to their traditional food and drinks.

The cool thing about this hotel is that they have a “ Taste of Elegance Dine Around Program “. Which means that you go to their sister properties to dine for the day. However you have to provide your own transportation to the other hotels but hey it may be worth it to go visit another resort maybe you’ll stay there the next time.
