HARD ROCK HOTEL - ATLANTIC CITY
I Visted AC March 14-19. My boyfriend and I stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel which is new. It actually used to be the Taj Mahal.
We had decided on taken greyhound instead of driving and actually it wasn’t bad at all, the ride is about 2 & 1/2 from Port Authority NYC. The buses had new leather seats not the the old material ones that grossed you out and made you not want to sit. If you stay here and take ground hound get off at resorts it’s literally a five min walk as they are across from each other. Hard Rock does not have a bus terminal.
As soon as we arrived we were welcomed and checked in. The guy was really nice but I will say that I was a little annoyed as I booked north tower and they only had south tower free. The south tower wasn’t bad it was actually pretty nice. We had a king bed and it was a big room considering some of the other hotels I stayed in. There was a chair, table and a couch as well. The tv was nice and it also had some cable channels for me this was a win. There was a fridge but it wasn’t stocked. They also provided a coffee pot with the essentials. The bathroom was clean. There was a stand up shower and plenty of towels and wash rags. The room we booked also gave us a view of the ocean which was pretty nice if your interested in that. The hotel is located on the boardwalk so other hotels are in walking distance or you can use the jitney or buses for a fee.
The Hard Rock Has several restaurants. Unfortunately we weren’t able to eat at all of them but we did stop at the Sugar Factory. It was decent we both had burgers his beef, mine turkey. You can definitely tell that it wasn’t hand made but if hungry I guess it gets the job done. We also shared a Raspberry Watermelon Mojito Goblet which is one of their huge drinks that the Sugar Factory is known for and it was good. My boyfriend is more of a sour person while I like sweet things so this drink was perfect for both of us. The waitress was super nice even told us to check in on yelp so that we could receive a free box to fill up candy. On a scale of 1-10 I give it a 7.
We also did the the YOUYU noodle bar. This was probably our favorite restaurant that we tried here. I ordered shrimp lo mein it was so good and a good portion size. My boyfriend had shrimp ramen soup which he loved as well. The service was quick and their ingredients were fresh. I would recommend this if visiting this hotel. On a scale of 1-10 I would give this place a 9.
The last night we decided to eat at the Hard Rock Cafe. The wait was 45 mins but we waited it out and decided to hit the slot machines. After 45 mins I went to the counter and asked how much longer they than sat us right away. I ordered a ginger ale and it was so watery I sent it back for lemonade which wasn’t that great either but at this point I figured all the drinks must be watery so I accepted it. My boyfriend ordered a margarita which he said was good. As the appetizer we had the southwest chicken flat bread which was okay nothing fancy ( but the best thing we had from there ). For an entree I ordered chicken fajitas and he ordered ribs. So I will say I’m super picky I don’t like processed chicken especially when it’s chewy and has that glossy look and that’s what this was. Needless to say it wasn’t the greatest. My boyfriend said his ribs were too tough. I honestly expected a little more seeing that you know this is the restaurant named after the hotel but yeah that didn’t happen lol. Oh the plus side is that my boyfriend was offered a free mason jar because of the drink he ordered. On a scale of 1-10 I give it a 5.
If you are a gambler maybe you’ll have more fun than me I don’t gamble much. I play the slot machines and with these AC machines I had no luck lol. They do have a high roller section which I didn’t bother to enter cause I had no intention of spending a lot in an effort to make a lot but they did have plenty of machines.
They also have clubs and lounges which we didn’t go to so I can’t give feedback on those. There were also stores to buy things such as jewelry and clothes. The only thing we did buy was water which was 5.00 a bottle and a ice cream for close to $3.50 Just a tip - go to the store and grab some things. We bought juices for our fridge, alcohol and snacks. Saved us money and the hassle of leaving our room to grab a snack or drink.
